Vikram Singh Chauhan

IAS (Retd.), Vice President

He studied at the Kendriya Vidyalaya Jaipur, Government College Ajmer and at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur doing his honors and post graduation in Economics. He has always been a keen nature lover and wildlifer.

His special interest in birds took wings at the Keoladeo National Park, when he was posted as ADM Bharatpur during 1993-94. He retired from IAS in 2017 and has since been engaged in promoting various activities pertaining to birding and nature conservation. He has been closely involved in organizing Bird Festivals, mainly for the benefit of students at different places in Rajasthan, including those at Dungarpur, Udaipur and Bharatpur. He’s fond of traveling and visiting various Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Parks in different landscapes. He lives in Jaipur.

Some of his important assignments were : Advisor, RIICO, Joint Secretary to the Hon’ble CM Rajasthan, District Collector & Magistrate, Director Tourism & MD, RTDC and Commissioner Settlement Department. He also worked in responsible positions in various Government Projects, Training Institutes and in many different Government Departments.
After his retirement from IAS in 2017, he was nominated as Member of the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC) of the Environment Department during 2018 – 21. He also worked as a Consultant in the Government of India’s Digital India’s Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP).

Prof. Sharad Srivastava

During my professional career spanning 36 years (1981-2017), Iwas fortunate to officiate as Vice Chancellor on a number of occasions and twotenures of Deanship (Dean of Law and Dean of Arts) headship of the Department of English, the Chairman of Faculty of Humanities and countless other administrative responsibilities. The adjudging as one of the best Deansin the country by the Bar Council of India, the inclusion of my book on Gender Discourse in the University of London, its review by Mulk Raj Anand and my selection by the British Council (Oxford) on a course on ‘New Technologies’ and my selection as an expert for evaluation of Professor Emeritus of a prestigious university and finally my recognition in the form of Dr. Nand Kumar Lavande Academic Excellence Award, 2018 by the Higher Education Society, Pune for academic contribution to Art, Culture and Literature are high points of my academic career. lowe all this in great measure tom y being a part of the MLSU fraternity.

Dr Lalit Joshi son of “Kalavind” Goverdhanlal Joshi “baba” was born on 29 March 1960 at Udaipur district. Did his schooling from Vidhya Bhawan where he got enrolled in various activities and learn multiple skills.

He went to Bikaner for higher studies in 1980 for graduation in B.V.Sc & H from Veterinary College of Bikaner. Further he did his PG in Veterinary Public Health in 1985( ICAR junior research fellowship,Gold Medolist) from Veterinary College Bikaner.

Later he served in animal husbandry department, rajasthan for good 36 years and got retired from the post of Additional Director Udaipur range.In between he also serverd as BDO in rural department, trible area in south rajasthan.

Some of the major impactful projects he introduced while working were “Goat Milk Project” and “Poverty Elimination Program” which was implemented successfully.

Presently working as advisor to Municipal Co-operation Nagar Nigam as Technical Advisor, Animal Husbandry Department.

Brief Bio-Data

Dr. Indra Jit Mathur born on July 20, 1957 at Pali-Marwar, Rajasthan obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture during 1978, Master degree in Agronomy during 1982 from Udaipur University and Ph.D in Agronomy (Agroforestry) during 1996 from Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. He has an excellent academic record and received UG (2nd position) and PG degrees with honours.

Dr. Mathur started his career as Research Associate on 27th March, 1982 and within six months selected as Assistant Professor. He was selected on the post of Associate Professor (Agronomy) in 1990. He joined as Professor (Agronomy) in the year 2001. He has rare opportunity of serving the University in different positions in career spanning 35 years with three decades of experience as DDO and Head of the various units. Incharge – Tribal Area Research Project, Dungarpur, Chief Training Organizer, KVK-Sirohi, Officer Incharge – National Demonstration Scheme-Sumerpur (Distt-Pali), Chief Scientist cum Head, KVK-Nagour (Founder Incharge), KVK-Sirohi, Associate Director Extension and Manager, ATIC, DEE, Udaipur, Student Welfare Officer, Chairman University Sports Board, Coordinator-NSS and Director Extension Education of the MPUAT at Udaipur. After retirement in July, 2017 continued with MPUAT as Coordinator ATIC and Smart Village till completion of contractual services on 19th July, 2022.

Besides this, also shouldered responsibilities as Principal Investigator of ICAR and State Government Research &Extension projects viz;

Presently working as Agriculture Advisor to Vice-Chancellor, Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, Udaipur since July, 2022.

Major Accomplishments
  • Published 18 research paper, 21 articles, 19 booklets, 16 training compendiums, 82 farmer friendly folders, 6 success stories, 6 video and telefilms, participated in 40 National and International workshop/seminars and attended 78 webinars.
  • Responsible for establishing Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sirohi (1989), Nagour (1992) and newly sanctioned KVK, Pratapgarh (2012) as founder incharge.
  • Completed twenty two research& extension projects (worth Rs. 5000 lakhs) useful to farmers and extension workers.
  • Successfully completed World Bank aided NAIP sub project “Livelihood and Nutritional Security of Tribal Dominated Areas through Integrated Farming System and Technology Models” worth Rs. 24.00 crores. In the prolject more than 16000 tribal households in four tribal districts were benefitted with significant change in livelihood and nutritional status. In the project number of process and technological innovations were introducer like sustainability fund concept ( Rs. 3.65 crore farmers contribution collected), basket of technology options, federating farmers into business groups (three Producer Companies formed), establishment of rural technology centers (10), locally trained service providers, partnership with agro industries, institutional mechanism for providing critical inputs and monitoring of project activities. It was ranked as one of the best projects in the country.
  • Generated support for infrastructure development at KVK’s worth Rs. 500 lacs.
  • Established Educational Museum in the University worth Rs. 1.00 crore.
  • Also involved in implementation of Tribal sub plan programmes of ICAR Institutes IGFRI-Jhansi. DMR – New Delhi, CICRT – Sirsa, NRCSS-Ajmer, DRMR – Bharatpur, CISH-Lucknow, CICR-Nagpur, NSP-SKRAU, Bikaner through KVK’s.
  • Successfully organized Western Region Krishi Vigan Mela in 2005 and Vth National Conference on KVK’s in 2010. Coordinated activities of MPUAT in Global Rajasthan Agri. Tech Meet at Jaipur, Kota and Udaipur.
  • Successfully led Hon’ble Governor’s Smart Village initiative programmme.

  • Three Best ICAR-KVK Award Zone VI Anta (Barna) – 2011, Sirohi-2012 and Banswara – 2013.

  • Appreciation certificate from ICAR for outstanding research on Sustainable Rural Livelihood Security (2012) in World Bank Funded NAIP project.
  • MPAT received AICTE-SAGY initiative award for excellent work done in Smart village Chhali for doubling the income of farmers. MPUAT has also been decaled as outstanding university among 28 state fund Universities in Rajasthan under Smart Village initiating of Hon’ble Governor in 2020.

  • Served in the Forest Department, Government of Rajasthan for nearly 36 years. Joined as Range Forest Officer and retired as Deputy Conservator of Forests in the year 2016. Posted mainly in the southern Rajasthan in protected areas. Managed wildlife sanctuaries Phulwari, Todgarh Raoli, Sitamata and Bassi.
  • Also developed some ecodestinations to promote Ecotourism. After retirement assisting Forest department in activities organising bird fairs, wildlife weeks, Van Mahotsava and awareness activities.

Career Summary :

  • Started service as Asst. Fisheries Dev Officer in the State Fisheries Department in 1973 and retired from the post of Dy Director on 31st December 2008.
  • Worked in a Swedish Govt. and Govt. of Rajasthan collaborative integrated project “PAHAL” and had experience of handling and tackling multi-disciplinary rural participatory developmental programs.
  • Presently pursuing consultancy to fishery entrepreneurs and farmers in private sector and running a Society “The Mewar Anglers Society, Udaipur” for promotion of angling and conservation of Mahseer fish in the State.
  • Extended the technical proficiency in conducting the program of breeding Mahseer fish in captivity, with infrastructural and administrative support of CCF, wildlife, Udaipur and succeeded in the year 2016. It was the first time that Mahseer was artificially bred in the State of Rajasthan. The program was conducted in Mahseer Hatchery situated at Sajjangarh Biological Park.
